The Great Divide
|
| Two hearts stand at the edge of a great divide. |
| Each heart yearning to be on the other side. |
| Oh! How they wish, they had wings to fly, |
| To
fly to their love on the other side.
|
| The World’s struggles keep these two apart. |
| Hopeless situations sink into their heart. |
| A world in chaos, confused, and scared, |
| Keep
lovers apart, and filled with dread.
|
| Their lover's tears make me cry: |
| "Why, world? Why! Oh, why? |
| Why can’t we live in peace? |
| Why
can’t we love in peace?"
|
| They speak in dreams of their great love, |
| And together, pray to the Great Spirit above. |
| "End the struggles that keep us apart. |
| Make hopeful light shine into our heart. |
| Please, close the gap in the great divide, |
| Bring our souls each, to the other’s side." |
|
|
| Their Lover' s tears make me cry: |
| "Why, world? Why! Oh, why?" |
